It appears to be what’s left of a small celebration.

A collapsable table is set up in the center of the room and atop it sits the remaining half of a frosted cake. Curious because there aren’t any plates or utensils though there isn’t any mess and the cuts appear clean.

In one corner is an unused coat rack. One wall holds a set of empty book shelves. Another side of the room is wallpapered in a repeating pattern of pink fleurs-de-lis.

The carpet is a similar color and if you put your nose right up to it you get the sense that it has not been replaced in a very, very long time despite the slow drip of water inexplicably falling from the underside of the bookshelf.

That’s no position for someone like you to adopt though, shouldn’t you be moving on?
