At least it was another voice. It would be good to hear a voice.
You intend to say this aloud, just to hear something, but find yourself strangely choked up. Something holds you back and the harder you try to vocalize the greater the air pressure in your throat that prevents you. Your eyes start to water from the effort as you gasp in more air only to exhale it without the slightest enunciation.
